9 engine

i've been in a mental slump lately, i love the car but i dont want to spend more money for a down payment for an evo 9, rather put it on mods. so i was just thinking, about engine swaps. just a turbboback, boost cont. and ecu flash can get the 9 to almost 400hp compared to the 8 that u need a crap load of money to get there. any word on this

hmmm

engine swap, tbe, and ecutek flash

vs

evo IX

vs

tbe, cams, mbc and alky injection
hell throw in a 20g-9 and you are still cheaper.

You do the math. You know although I hate telling people to search, you should've done a search on 400hp or something. I've noticed that you ask a lot of weird questions. Your old Screen name on here used to be SUSHI SAMURAI huh?

Do your homework... Understand what changed between the 8 and 9 powerplants, what parts made the HP. and then price upgrading parts VS a full swap. The bigger compressor housing in the turbo and better engine management are credited with 98% of the HP increase. Both exteraneous to a motor swap, expensive and will produce almost the same results on an 8.

honestly, once you swap out the turbo and piping, the big difference is the mivec intake cam. And honestly I dont even know if the MIVEC cam is an aid or a handicap once youre making big power.
