Please ID these two turbos
They are both 16g turbos. The purpose of this picture is showing the difference between the old wastegate flapper (two circles) and the revised flapper (one circle).
They are both 10.5 hotsides, so they are both from 05 Evos. They are not from 06 because they do not have the newer compressor housing.
Edit: The dual flapper could also be from a TME turbo.

the left is likely a 9.8 and the right is a 10.5. you can easily notice by the DIAMETER of the snail.
the file is linked from:

it is an article from sept04 so I assume its just showing a pre05 turbo and the new 05 turbo with the 10.5 hotside.

Wow, lots of confusion here. The one on the right has the redesigned single puck which was phased in on the 10.5 housing (and being the that diffuser isn't any larger than the turbo on the left, its going to be an 05 setup). The one on the left has the old-school WG setup and since its very obvious looking at the scroll that it is smaller, I'm going it say its a 9.8 from the 03-04 8's and various others.

Reason I am asking is because the one on the right is the wastegate setup on the '04 Australian delivered Evos. Everyone seems to think that we have the 9.8 hotside but Im starting to think we might have a 10.5 because its the MR wastegate setup.
Is there a relatively straightforward way of telling whether you have a 9.8 or 10.5 hotside without pulling the turbo out?
