Hi guys, I was doing some quarter mile test and I accidently over Rev the engine for like 2 sec, all the way to 8-9k, and after that, now everytime I drive the car, there is this burning smell coming from where the manifold/turbo location, I never have that smell and now it's been 3 days, I don't know what's going on, could it be the oil/water is not circulating through the turbo etc??, engine lost compression?!? I used to have the rx7 and I lost compression due to broken apex seal and have the same smell too.

Any advice suggestion is welcome.. help!!

Missed a shift I assume since the rev limiter didn't kick in. Sorry.

If you have a burning smell, you may have oil leaking which can be a fire hazare, so remove the heat shield and get a good look at the turbo.

You mentioned low compression. Did you mean boost?
