Unhappy Anyone had their crank angle sensor fail as yet?

well it's the third time mine has failed...and caused the car to completely cut off while driving.
after that it refuses to start.
the rpms drop to zero right before everything cuts off.

can anyone figure out what causes it to go bad?

thanks...

Are the sensors failing or getting taken out by the blade behind the crank sprocket?

^ i cant remember what happened the first time...

but the second time...the bolt ran loose...the big bolt in the middle.
checked out threading etc...put some loc-tite on it and put it back up.
was working fine for just over a year and then yesterday it failed.

This was a huge sign of crank walk in the 2g dsm's. I hope its not, but it could be a idea.

doubt it's the loctite..
because then what would have caused it to go the first time.

as for crankwalk....hmmm i should hope not.
but it lasted for over a year with racing etc...
