At low speeds at around 5mph I have this creaking sound under my car. Sounds like something underneath is making this metal twisting sound...last about 1-2 seconds. its weird cause sometimes is near the front and at times its by the rear seats. it comes and goes but refuses to go away. we checked the exhaust to see if it was touching anything but it wasnt. any idea what it is?

 

When i had creeking sound it was from my downpipe touching the oem brace... perhaps the brace might be twisting when the car's going over bump or anything?

 

yea I had that same noise when it touched my dp. removed the dp a few months ago and the sound did go away. now its coming back so it cant be the brace since its not installed. must be touching someting again cause it does sound similar in a way...

 

is it while turning? I know with my evo8 that turned out to be the axles and also the struts eventually went.
It could just be the suspension creeking maybe? mine would make noise too, esp going over a slight bump in the road- it would creek.

 

I doubt it is the suspension, the sound is just way too loud for a suspension to creak that loud. I think it may be the drivetrain.. maybe its going out? car still drives fine tho.
