I assume you have a 5-speed.

Most people use Pennzoil Synchromesh or BG Synchroshift. I use the Pennzoil and its great.

I ordered 3 qts of Amsoil Syn Manual Trans Gear Lube GL4 from amsoil.com Seems to be working fine... item number is MTGQT. Paid 35.09 with shipping and tax included. 8.75 a qt.

That pennzoil im sure works great....but some like me have a tough time putting anything that has the word pennzoil into our cars

BG Synchro1 - $33.00 for 3 qts from slowboyracing.com

DSM guys have used the BG for many years...I think its def. one of the better ways to go? but what do I know...I follows dsm suite and use heavy shockproof in my tc and rear diff.!

I was skeptic until TRE reccomended it and I found out tons of people on here use it too. It works great and got rid of my 5th gear notchiness.

I used BG in my 90 AWD DSM and I think it actually hurt it. I think its just too thin for those cars, but seems to work well with the EVOs. Either way, the Pennzoil has proven to be more than safe and defiintely effective... and inexpensive!

My friend has 1G awd and it has a stage 2 shep tranny in it and he recommended BG so it has to be ok, maybe you had an underlying problem with your dsm tranny?

Actually a lot of DSM guys mix a qt. of heavy shockproof with the BG for the tranny? So thats always another option if your going to be racing and driving hard a lot....

I guess it depends. The fluid DID make the tranny shift much smoother and just feel overall much better I just felt it was too thin for the synchros. I had sychros go bad 3x in 3 different gears, however the last time, I started to use Valvoline 75W-90 and the last year and a half I had my car there were no more problems. Im not saying it was the BG but I just felt it could have been so I stopped using it.

Penzoil worked great for me, it just needs to be replaced every 5k miles or so.

Redline always worked good for me. Make sure you buy the correct product though. Alot of guys put in the wrong stuff then complain about Redline.
