boost prob on IX

i think my forge unos needs to be greased.. I am using the stock lines so i have it mounted or zip tied to the overflow line going from the radiator to the over flow tank.. i think it is cause it is gettin hot being so close to the manifold and breaking the grease down.... i have a flash tbe and intake and i have it set at 22 psi.... now it hits only 20 psi and drops to like 15 fast then if i stay in the power band up around 5-7k it will drop a little below that... i dont think it is a boost leak but has anybody else had this prob.. the mbc has only been on for like 2k

Stock lines? As in the factory OEM lines? You absolutely CANNOT reuse those lines - they have restrictor pills in them.

If you have regular, fresh aftermarket hoses, then you should go recheck everything. The heat-breaking-down-the-grease-and-suddenly-boosting-lower isn't likely.

You don't hit full boost in 1st or 2nd as there isn't enough load.

I have a Joe-p mbc and it is set to 20-21psi. And when I do a pull in 3rd it taper to 15-17 psi. Does this happen to you too?

Laf, no dude, damn. You people drive me crazy with this paranoia. The flash can't just disappear. If flashes disappeared due to resetting the battery, then no one would ever have a flash.

Also, the flash has _NOTHING_ to do with the boost. You're using an MBC, so the MBC is controlling the boost. If it's only peaking at 20psi, then *drumroll* turn it up!! I have no idea how your boost was hitting 22psi with the wrong lines before, but just consider yourself extremely fortunate. Now that you have it setup properly, it should do what you tell it to. Set it to 22psi in 3rd, then go rock out. Yes, in lower gears, it won't go as high, because there isn't as much load.

Has it been warmer out by you? My WRX would fluctuate a lot during warm/cold days boost wise...in the summer I had to open the mbc up, and then in the winter it would spike and I had to close it.

Yes, the other thing is that as it gets warmer, you will see lower boost. Then, when it gets colder, the boost will rise again without a change to the MBC. Adjust accordingly.
