I'd be just as concerned (actually more concerned) about blocking air flow to the radiator from a larger FMIC than I would be about the performance you "might" gain from a larger FMIC. Especially if you have to take the splash guard off or any other air diverting panels.

I have the RNR core, and it does not slow turbo spool that you can measure. I'm in Houston, not quite as hot as Vegas, but the humidity will kill ya. Here's a good test, take a stock intercooler, then a large front mount. Fill both with water and measure the cfm difference. Now compare that to whaterver turbo you are running at whatever boost, and tell me how many fractions of a second it takes to fill that extra volume. it won't be much.

Kris I'm sorry to say, but Bolsen makes a lot of sense. I don't see the reason behind calling you a ricer, but you do not need a new fmic. I would just get piping and call it a day or think about adding some alky.

As far as the Vegas guys saying look where he is from you must have no clue what the weather is like in WI for July or August. Yes we have dry heat here, but in WI it's not dry. I can ride around town in Vegas on a day where it reaches 110 with out a problem, but in WI good luck trying to stand it when it's 95 with 90% humidity.

Piping kits that fit the stock air box are Niesi and Helix. I also think Turbo XS works.

Yes I have lived in both climates long enough to know about them both

I understand him questioning me about why ... but calling me a ricer right off the bat is what set me off

BTW: you know what my mods are ... what would you say is the next logical step in making more power? Cams ... not availble ( well except for turbo trix which im not feeling) .. Turbo Manifold.... dont really make that much power .. the buschur ported one makes about the same ... I just figured new intercooler would work for two things ... more power & better cooling.

Other things I plan on are better oil cooler and radiator ... when tracking the car its better to be safe then sorry.

Oh jesus let him get the damn intercooler. Even if he were to see an extra 200-300 rpm in lag it wouldnt matter on the large Pahrump course. By the way surface temps reach well over 130 here on the tracks here. The larger IC will help a bit, One person I know did some testing on ait's and there was a good difference using the nisei on a roadcourse.

I've got a 10.5 housing, AMS intercooler, and Nisei piping, (all supposedly causing more lag) WORKS cams, a flash .. (check sig for rest) and I still get 19+ psi of boost by 3000rpm in 4th.

Http://www.dejonpowerhouse.com sells the Upper ic pipe that will fit along with your stock battery too without needing a mini battery kit, then just gom to fighter's garage for your lower IC, the Dejon upper ic is $125 with the port for the bov recirc.
