Hey Ya'll:

My friend had an 03 Evo and bought a HKS SS Exhaust. He let me try it on my EVO 9 B4 I buy it. I went to a shop and they said that some of the metal hangers are not bent right, therefore it won't fit.

The instructions and some of my friends locally told me that they have the HKS metal brackets. Although, my friend says you don't need them and all you have to do is hook it up to the stock rubber hangers. I also briefly spoke w/ a guy at Gruppe-s and he said he doesn't think I need the HKS brackets...

So do I need the HKS metal brackets or can I just use the 3 stock rubber hangers?

You definitely need the metal brackets. No if ands or buts. Tell your friend you need them or else do not buy it from him. It WILL not work without them.

 

Thanks, I knew I needed them! I guess next question is do you know if any vendors will just sell the HKS metal brackets???

Side question: Should I pay my friend $325 for this used HKS exhaust plus how ever much money the brackets are?

Or

Should I buy a Helix V.2 Downpipe and resonated Cat delete for the same price?

Which mod path will result in more HP's, for now?
