the gasket around the spark plug hole thats under the valve cover. mine was ripped and poured oil around the spark plug. didn't even see the oil before i pulled the spark plug, and found a ton of oil in the piston. it dripped down from the spark plug hole

ohh yea the car is not burning any oil. soooo? so you guys think that it is the oil ring or just the valve cover gasket by the #3 cylinder head spark plug hole that is just leaking oil......

I had this problem one time in a 2.0L Beetle, the rings were not sealing.
I would have to say rings or valve steam seals

Check the gap on all plugs and inspect visually for fitness to reuse.

Clean all plugs and reinstall. Start vehicle and try to replicate oil on spark plug.

If oil still present a compression check and leakdown test are in order. Follow closely to directions while performing these tests.

Cylinder pressures from facory should be between 138 and 165 at operating temperature.

Good LUCK

all the plugs are cleaned and in good working order. put everything back together and ran the car for about 15 min and then took the #3 plug back out and it looked normal...no oil...i think that it is the sparkplug gasket that is bad and when i pulled the plug out of the hole i pulled it through the oil that was sitting in there and it just looked like i pulled the plug from a cylinder full of oil.

Your right , could be oil from the v/c o-ring gasket or......

Your Magnacore wires !! FYI there really bad for your Evo. Stick with OEM or Ralliart.

Oh you I thought you meant in the cylinder, not in the spark plug hole go get you a valve cover gasket set.
