If you are using AFC, Denso is the way to go since stock are Denso.

But if you go with a stand alone, almost any other injector will work.

There are three types of injectors, pintle, disc, and ball. Of the three, the ball type gives quick response, longest service life, and best efficiency at high duty cycles. Delphi and Rochester both make ball type injectors. Fuel Injector Clinic (www.fuelinjectorclinic.com) sells Delphi injectors for the EVO.

Some people prefer disc types (I'm not one of them). For those, Lucas makes the best disc injector.

I recommend avoiding the pintle types altogether.

My buddy had a bad experience with FIC injectors. He was seeing abnormal noise on his aem knock sensor, so on a whim sent them out to be independantly flow tested. they were off by a significant margin and the spray pattern wasn't good.

Since then, I switched him out to some precision injectors, which are flow tested within 2% before they are sent out, and his knock noise went away.

Of course your results may vary, however, his car is a weekend car and has at most 5-7k miles.

I've never experienced any such issues, so it's apparently an isolated incident. Additionally, the EVO injectors sold by both FIC and Precision are both ball types and may very well be the same brand.

FYI, Precision 1000cc are Rochester 1008cc. I'd presume most, if not all Precision injectors are probably Rochester...

Dont mean to sound like an ***, but just because you never experianced such an issue doesnt mean its an "isolated incident".

Im running AMSs (which are Precision). They work fine!

I've ran Precision injectors in all the cars I've done over 500 whp and never had a problem, have even more in lower hp ranges.

In terms of RC, they were grossly overpriced way back in the day, when there was no choice. in the late mid 90's I bought a set of 720's from them for 500-600+ dollars or something ridiculous.

One injector ended up failing on me shortly, and had to get my car towed subsequently, and had to buy a completely new set because their older style was discontinued.

Buyer beware just because it cost a lot doesn't mean its good.

Dejontool.com sells the PTE injectors for stupid low prices. Like 300 dollars for 1000cc.
