Retune needed with the addition of HKS DLI2???

I was wondering if a retune will be needed when I hook up the HKS DLI2??

I'm currently running a .022 gap....

how much should I gap my plugs at now?? .028??

Thanks for the help...

Gap them like .028 and from what I heard it can change your ignition values so I would get a retune at some point unless you have someway of datalogging...

I would recommend a retune after you install the DLI II. I don't believe it "changes ignition values," but because you are getting a more complete burn, some knock that was being suppressed with fuel may now be uncovered by the stronger spark. I installed my DLI II last weekend and had to tweak my tune a bit to get things back in line.

Better safe than sorry, I say, especially if you have no direct monitoring ability of your knock sensor.

With regard to plugs, I put in a new set of Iridium NGKs and didn't touch the gap (about .028) before installing them -- they run very well so far. You should be able to run the factory-suggested gap on your plugs at high boost/rpm levels since you have the DLI II.

before you had a certain amount of timing advance to account for a slower less complete burning. once you have a stronger spark you will burn faster and more complete so you must remove some ignition advance and possibly correct some fuel.

i was with pd1 when he did some retuning for his dli ii

Thanks for the help guys, in this event I'll install the DLI2 when I'm ready for my retune and after my 50 Trim gets installed.
