I have an ACT in my car and all I can say is I'm not happy with it. If I had to do it again I would spend the extra money and get a Exedy twin.

You didn't list any mods or tell us the way you plan to use your car. We need more details in order to suggest a clutch, and yes, you are supposed to search before posting a new thread.
Well I just spent the last two hours reading up on Tilton and Exedy and ACT.
Just thought there would be some new info on other clutches available for the Evo
So far I don't like the noise and chatter people talk about, I've driven a few cars with a twin plate Exedy and didn't even notice it was after market until I heard the chatter when the clutch was depressed.
I kinda like the Exedy Stage 2 but I lil on the heavy side when comes to traffic stop and go.
Anyone use any other clutches and input.
The car is a baby transport. No suspension mods because its stiff enough to be on the street. I'd like a clutch to hold alot better than the stock (gone in two runs). I bought the cars used so that might explain the clutch wear.
I ran mid 12's with goal of mid 11's

Call Coompetion clutch and tell them your mods. They should be able to help.
Excedy is great but do you really need it...

Here is probably the largest poll on EVO clutches (now up to 276):
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=126768
It doesn't show some of the newer players, like Tilton, Quartermaster, etc but still a good resource.

i used an exceddy twin in my 03 and once its broken in and you get used to it,like smooth engagement from a stop (which takes patients and concentration compared to stock) you should be alright, and it definetely has the holding power to get you down the track with no problem. if you can deal with the deceleration noise you,ll be ok. thats the only thing about the clutch i didnt like(the decel noise and vibration).but it can take whatever you throw at it within reason, good luck

go with an HD twin, you'll get accustomed to it and it will hold just about anything you throw at it
PS: check my sig for the part number (mm022hd) make sure you get that one if you do get it

I didn't know about the HD.
I wish I can go for a ride with someone who has a twin and find out about the decel noise.
