After WOT acceleration RPM dip to 200, norm?

After a WOT acceleration in like 3rd if I, immediatly after, press clutch and idle the will RPM dip to 200 for several seconds and I have to wake her up with the throttle.

Is this normal?

Give it a try and see what happens:

WOT in 3rd and as soon as you hit like 6-7k rpm lift throttle and push clutch simultaneously and monitor your rpm (and road) -

what happened?

Thanks people

This question is useless without knowing what mods you're running.

no. this is not normal. your ecu should keep the rpms from falling rapidly like that. you have an intake leak somewhere. check the bov area.

I had the same problem with my JDM MR BOV. Try going back to the stock BOV and see if that fixes it.

Bingo! BOV

I have a stock modified valve which I internally compressed the spring to about 30% of it's load (kinda like the crushed method) enabling it to hold higher pressure - looks like it's too stiff not letting enough air go by the sensor until full vacuum.

If this is the only side effect I may keep it as is, I still like it better than the $230 blinging valve for drivability

Thanks BOOSTEZ and Compjoc for the clues - it was right under my nose.
