Bog under hard acceleration. Why?

Hey guys,

I installed a turbo kit from prostreetonline.com. Its a garret t25 non intercooled. THe install went smoothly. I did it with a friend who is a little more knowledgable about installs than I am. When I went to drive the car, it was boosting 6 psi. But everytime I accelerated slightly hard, not even WOT and I would slow down after the car starts to bog once it gets to around 700 RPM it dips to about 500 and at times stalls. It usually doesnt happen when I dont accelerate too much. Another thing is that I feel no power whatsoever. It feels like stock if not a little slower. I dont have an EGT or an aif/fuel guage. I know i should get those. I am thinking that its either because the air is too hot or because the air/fuel ratio isnt right. Any ideas of what it might be or you guys wanna share your knowledge with me? Thanks for all the help. Im learnin I should check temp and aif/fuel first right? Ideas?

Is your blowoff valve atmosphere or recirculating? I have a kit just like yours and when i first put it on venting to atmosphere it surged at idle and would stall along with power problems. Try recirculating

How do you have everything hooked up as far as MAS/BOV/recicurlation. SHould it be like this?

Turbo -- Mas -- pipe from BOV that recirculates air into intake pipe-- BOV -- Throttle Body.

Dude you need to do your research on this kit! But ill help ya here Ill sent you some pics later when i have more time. It should go MAF---turbo---then BOV and recirculate behind the MAF and before turbo.

Do you have a WBO2? Good sign that you may be running lean.

Chances are if it was a boost leak you'd be leaking all the time and have trouble reaching full boost even under light accel.

Well as an update today We setup an intercooler and put a greddy type s BOV which made the situation a little better. I also got a chance to install a Air/fuel gauge. When cruising the car reads rich/stoich. The cars pulls from a stop but as you keep acceleration it loses some strength and reads lean. After the acceleration, when coming to a stop, the car wants to die. Am I right to assume that its a fuel pump issue. We are boosting 6 PSI. Also here is what I dont understand. Is the BOV supposed to go between the MAS sensor and the throttle body. We have it like that currently but from what I know about cars (which isnt really too much but im tryin to learn). Wont the car keep getting wrong signals from the MAS sense the BOV releases some of that air? Thanks for the help guys.

I cant get the picture to load on here. But, did you pump in a new fuel pump in your car. That kit doesnt come with one and the stock one can not handle high pressure (90 to 100psi when the FMU kicks in). If its stock get a Walbor 255 for an eclipse 2G/ Evo. Sounds to me like your running out of fuel up top. Also, get a damn intercooler. Your going to bake those pistons alive. That could be another reason it running like **** to hot of air going in and EGT levels are probaly high. But do the fuel pump if you havent and it should help you out. For the stubbing and stalling at idle and deacceleration recirculate you BOV from after the turbo and before TB to after the MAF sensor and before turbo.

I'm sorry but this sentance is confusing me. is there anyway you can send the picture to teknotikal@hotmail.com or maybe make a quick drawing using draw or something. I put an intercooler setup and today I am trying to get a fuel pump. Thanks for the help.

Unhappy

Ill send you a picture via email but the fuel pump will solve your problem. If you didnt have one before then you probably ran EGT's up high and hopefully didnt hurt your pistons.
