Are you guys actually using a BPR or a BR?

You really should be running a BPR.

Please explain. I use Iridiums when running race gas, seems fine.

+1 I would like to know as well. I have only ever heard not to use platinums and that the irridiums were fine.

I still to this day do not know why though.

If anyone could provide links to information for our review that would be great.

BPR8es projected tip works best IMO.

Your using iridiums on race gas and on higher boost? Ok..... I seriously hope you never have any problems. Iridiums and platinum tip plugs are usually for NA engines. You guys do know when you increase the boost it is alot easier to burn fuel right which is why you run race gas because its harder to burn. So why in the hell would you put a plug in that burns fuel alot faster and easier? You are depleting the reason why you use race gas.

I use BPR8ES with just a TBE, boost controller, and flash. I seem to drive aggressively enough to keep them from fouling. If you are making huge boost I would go BPR9ES, although alky might negate that need since it cools things down a lot.

You mean BPR8ES-11? I thought those were tall enough to cause piston contact.

Yeah that's been common DSM knowledge for a while, I hope they are just forgetting the "P".

I've been running BPR8ES plugs for about a year now. No problems as of yet.

I run the BPR8ES at 6800ft. 433hp on dynodynamics @ 26psi. They work great, better then the iridiums.

Tonz, you only need BPR7ES gapped to .026. I didn't move up to 8s until I started using alky daily with 26+psi. Btw, if you're referring to 24 gauge psi, then that's really around 20psi. If you're referring to manifold pressure, then 24 is way too high for 91oct.

His whole question was regarding his switch to alcohol injection. 24psi is not "way too high" for 91 octane + alcohol

Well, yeah, I was only talking about 91oct. I didn't see the alky reference.

Tonz, you can use BR8ES or BPR8ES gapped to .024. I'd recommend more than 24psi with the alky. I don't recommend iridiums with high boost on a daily basis, because they're more likely to foul. Also, the coppers are very cheap, so you can keep a big box of them spare for whenever you need to put in new ones.

Since when did Clayton become a master of 91 octane?

Since when were BPR8es too cold for 91oct?

If anything on lower octane, you would want colder plugs! As in 8 range BPR8es.

91oct at 6000' is like 93oct. I deal with and live in an area that only has 91oct. I'm no master of it, but BPR7ES is still better than 8s on straight pump gas. On alky, I suggest the 8s due to the high boost.
