Something wrong with your EGR system.

I am not sure but someone posted info on how to start troublesooting these types of issues.

I would start and make sure that all of the vacuum lines are connected. The ones underneath the intake manifold is a good place to start.

IIRC there are other things that would cause this issue was well but I can recall what they would be at the moment.

Search for p0400 and Im sure you will get some places to start checking.

Your EGR valve is directly behind TB but a little lower - this component is pneumatically controlled by the EGR solenoid. The fault you have is saying the wiring to your solenoid is open or shorted. This solenoid is way in the back and the easiest way to get to it (for me) is from underneath. It's the one with 3 rubber hoses to it - two of them come from the top ports of TB, if you follow those you will find solenoid and can check the wiring

Well just an update on the problem.

After I climbed under the car after removing the lower braces and what not so I could get up to the lower intake manifold I immediately saw the problem. Somehow or another something totally destroyed the EGR control solenoid. I mean it was literally sheared in half with all of the relays inside of it dangling around and the plug was just hanging there in the former carcass of what used to be what it plugged into.

All is well now as the part will be here tomorrow and all will be well again. There was no damage to anything else on the back of the engine so I can only guess what cuased this. I am sort of in the country so an animal might have done this. I really don't know.

The clutch was replaced back in January. I guess that is what happened since it appears to have happened to some others. Anyhow, I have been a slack *** and really did not care about the CEL until it came down to inspection time.
