Boosting 28psi on pump gas

I got my meth kit installed at this X shop. After installing Br8es spark plugs I went out for couple wot runs. It felt great but after couple of wot I realized that the car was hestitating between 6k-7k rpm. kinda like minor slipping clutch. I did about 3-4 wots and only paying attention to road and rpm. After couple of run i realized that my boost guage wasn't working. Went back straight home and found out that the T that connect boost line and smc boost line was disconnected causing the meth kit to stop working.

The car is fine after I reclamped the line with new zipties but kinda pissed that X shop was careless to ziptie it securely.

Did I put damage to the motor. I am running 11.3-11.5 afr running 27-28 psi of boost. I did one 1st and 2nd wot and rest were just 2nd and 3rd gear wot. Total of 3 times.

Wow.
The only cheap/quick way to detect any damage you can do now is a compression test on each cylinder.
Goodluck.

Depends on timming. Do a compression test and leakdown test. And check your plugs ASAP. If one of them is different color then the rest, it is likely that one had detonation.

I am tuned for mods below. But just that boosting that much at pump gas just scared the ****t out of me. The car is running great though.

Do you guys think it's still nessesary for a compression test even if I don't feel the difference in performance?

^^ you should just to make sure.

You don't want to find out the hard way if there is something wrong .

Bah, I have had the same type issues happen to me before. Meth quit @ 32psi, AFR went to 13.2ish, held like this till redline. I noticed the car was breaking up a little bit so I checked the log, saw what happened and fixed it. Car still runs great today.

i dont think you did any damage and wouldnt even do a compression test, something similiar happened to me on my 03 and never had a problem, but it scared the crap out of me also. turns out i was getting tuned about 2 months after it happened and got a compression test anyway, with a boost and leakdown test just to make sure everything was alright for the tune(cams,etc.).I was 170 across the board on com.,but just for piece of mind so you dont lose any sleep over it then do the com. test, good luck.

I mad my vacuum line for my SMC kit pop off as well during a pass at the track this past month... running about 37psi with no meth, knocking constantly at 3.5 ~ 4.2 volts for a couple of gears... no damage to the motor though... just scurred the **** outta me. =x

If you are tuned for alky then i would go back to the shop and have them do a compression test and check for detonation.....alky kit not working+ **** fuel and high boost is baddddddddd . Get it looked at ASAP man. I figure if they didn't install it right then they should do the check. I would suggest getting some ban clamps from the autozone and giving your ride a proper securing instead of zip ties.... you can never be too safe.

if you were running that kind of boost...w/out the meth kit spraying..and still had an a/f of 11.3 or so...then they suck at tuning.

The meth adds fuel to the mix...so you actually have to lean the ecu maps out a bit to compensate and make it work right. Otherwise with the meth kit spraying, you would be in the 10's a/f hardcore....
