happened to me twice. The bolts came a little loose and blew it right out. now i keep 2 extra gaskets and tools necessary to change it out with me in the car. Just make sure you tighten the WG down real tight. I use red loctite and over torque them a little. Haven't had a problem in about 3000 mi.

Sorry to post without vendor status but. We've had tons of problems with the standard tial gaskets, so here's our solution to it.

This is sorta off topic but what affects did it have on you when it got fried, trying to diagnose my issue right now. Other night I was heading home from work, boosted and heard a pop and now when I spoolup when the wastegate opens up my wg sounds different (actually quieter) my boost spools up slow, and when it reaches 20 it is so sluggish it feels like 8psi even though gauge reads 20.

Took off intake fins checked out ok, no shaftplay etc. Put intake back on, drove it and the first pull in 1st/2nd it spooled fine then merged on the highway in third it popped again and did the spool issue again.

Sounds to me like you have a boost leak, not gasket related.

I never used a gasket on my 35mm and then on the 38mm when they came out. Try running the wastegate without a gasket and see if that works for you
