Exclamation Emergency Help Please!!!!!!!!!!!! PICS INSIDE!!

after a downpipe, this is what's happening, i had a tech from a muffle shop checked out. he used the tube to listen to the manifold, and said there's a leak. what cause a leak up there? i'm just switching the downpipe. so now what's the solution? just replace a gasket between the manifold and the head or replace an aftermarket manifold or get it back to a stock dp?! please let me know!!!!

Makes no sense as to the coincidence. I would bet it is the DP gasket. Worst case is YES replace the head to exhaust manifold gasket.

I would try to tighten down the 12mm and 14mm nuts that hold the manifold to the head of the car first before pulling the manifold off. Then i would make sure the downpipe was tightened down properly then if that does not fix it then yes, i would replace the metal gasket. Good luck.

thanks guys!! but if it's the dp gasket, why would it affect the gasket between the manifold and the engine and on to the hood? and replacing the gasket between the manifold is $240..that's the quote.....sounds reasonable?

80k, but i don't think it's related to the mileage, me and my friend (25k evo) both got the same dp the same time, same thing happening. so it has to be the dp, but i don't know why it would affect the manifold.....so if i decided to change anything, i need to make sure i fix the cause of it...i just don't wanna change gasket every month...

not a brand name dp
but quality seems high, afterall the performance is great, it pull strong, no sign of leaking. just the gasket blew i guess. so again, i just make sure just replacing the gasket is fine...
