Question about adjusting Forge MBC

I have these nice shiney and new AutoMeter Nexus gauges sitting on my desk...problem is, I'm not going to attempt to install them myself and the appointment to get them installed is in a few weeks. I just got my Forge MBC in the mail today from Buschur and I want to install it...why? well, because after looking carefully at my wastegate vacuum lines, I noticed that the stock boost control solenoid thing isn't hooked up (actually isn't even there) and my wastegate is connected directly to the vacuum system without anything else in the way, which concerned me a little. I want to hook this thing up so I can feel a little more comfortable...problem is, I don't have any way to tell what psi I am running after I install it (or even what I'm running now) until I get those gauges installed...so my basic question is this...to those who have a Forge MBC, how many "clicks" from the lowest setting (meaning turning all the way down to the left until it stops turning then working your way back counting the steps) does it take to get to 20psi (roughly)? If anyone knows this I would appreciate the information!

Don't do it. Either install the guages yourself, or just wait to install the MBC. If your car has been running fine with the lines the way they are, I wouldn't worry.

Uh, no, it doesn't work that way. Do not, and I mean DO NOT install that MBC and try to guess on the clicks. The only thing that would be REMOTELY sane would be to install the MBC and keep it set to ABSOLUTE MINIMUM! I can't believe you'd even consider installing it blindly and turning it up. That's just crazy, because there are 2 springs, and there are 2 versions of the UNOS. You could accidentally or unknowingly have the stiff spring installed, then turn it up 4 clicks and be at 25psi or something. You could also install it improperly and run max boost without knowing it. There is no set # of clicks that provides a known amount of boost on every car - it doesn't work that way.

Do not install it until you have the boost gauge. I'd also be very concerned if the stock boost system is not hooked up. How did it get like that? Did you buy the car used all screwed up, or did someone play hide-and-go-seek with your boost system one night?

yea when i installed mine some people said around 6 to 12 clicks should be 21 psi. it was 18 clicks to 21 for me. so every set up is different. i would not even install it. i see another thread coming up on how you blown your motor if you do install it.

OK I'll just hold off then...no problem I guess, as I don't get into the boost that much anyway. And the car must have been like this when I got it, because I haven't touched it since.
