Should I use Redline Water Wetter in my EVO????

I have a bottle of redline water wetter. I have used it in my Integra but dont really know if it helped me out at all.

I plan on running like 20% antifreeze and 80% water with water wetter added...

Will I notice any worthwhile gains on the EVO?

I use it in my car. I haven't noticed any differences, but i'm sure it won't hurt.

I'm using water wetter alone with a ralliart thermostat. I've noticed the OEM temp gauge needle rests lower than it used to.

I wont use it anymore after it turned to sludge in my car. If you put it in the overflow bottle, check the bottle sometime later on and I bet there will be sludge in the bottom. I dont want that stuff in the rest of the system so I flushed it all out and dont plan on putting anymore in.

Also, it wont help most people. If your car isnt running hot currently, it wont change anything. Your thermostat will still open at the same temp so your car will still run at the same temp. Only way it will help is if you are road racing or something and you are overheating the car (or coming close to it).

Are you sure the crap in the coolant reservoir is caused by the water wetter?

I run straight distiled and water weter, lowered my temps by a couple of Celcius. No sludge build up from it.

ditto, only about a 30/70 mix, distilled to anti-freeze.

Anti-freeze just for a bit of corrosion inhibitance.

It makes a difference on track, running more water and wetter.

Water Wetter is supposed to have corrosion prevention additives, but I'd still run 30% or 35% antifreeze to make sure that you're getting sufficient corrosion protection. Don't forget to use distilled or de-ionized water. No water from the tap should go into your radiator.

So what does the wetter do, increase water's thermal conductivity?

I would have to say yes because the only reason I looked for it was because there is already a thread about this where a bunch of people complained about the sludge problem. After I read about it, I decided to check mine and sure enough, it was there.

basically it breaks the surface tension so liquid can fill all the small holes in the casting from the sand they use. it also has better thermal properties

there are no chemical properties that would create any sludge, you guys just need to flush your systems, your using junk coolant

why do you think you need to use it? If you are looking to keep your engine temps lower during road racing, get a low temp thermostat and run distilled water. Otherwise, running cooler coolant temps are not going to offer any benefit at all

how does water wetter change the temperature at which the thermostat controls?
