Just take it back to the dealership and have them fix it

Just do that. I would not worry about it. They will probally warranty you a new drain plug/sensor

I dont under stand why mitsu would make the drain plug the sensor. Most oil pressure sensors are located up further on the block. for better pressure readings. Just my 2c

You guys sure its the oil pressure sensor and NOT the OIL TEMP? I'm no expert on the EVO yet, but oil pressure sensors are usually installed after the oil pump.

It's temp, not pressure.

It's the plug so they don't have to punch a hole in the pan. It's sometimes a dealer add on, and being the plug makes it an easy sensor to install. Unscrew the old, in with the new. No issues of oil leaks at a hole that was drilled, or similar mess up.

There are those locations near the filter that could be used, but doing the plug is cheap and easy.

We've used that plug for Evos, ours included, running both oil temp and oil pressure gauges. It's easier to put the pressure sensor in the spot up near the filter, and the temp on the drain plug. Some of you may have seen the damage that can be done using a filter sandwich on a lowered Evo, so the drain plug is an easy spot for the temp gauge.

Check the wiring, there's a connector that is zip tied (from the factory) to the brake line on the right front wheel.

That has to vibrate like all get out. Mine broke both wires (they are tiny, almost like a single strand) and quit working.

The dealer won't sell just the short end of the harness that ends up at the drain plug. You have to but the whole thing, they say that they are calibrated from the factory.

Good luck
