This is pending that claimed gains are actually proven true by a 3rd party tester.

Yeah that's crazy. And $110 is on the high side. Mine cost $60 something.

I liked the rant WORKS made before they actually posted results. It would have been nice if they actually said what it gained over stock. Or better yet if they posted back to back stock to their housing without any tuning differences. I mean really if they have 7 shop EVO's its not like it should be a problem!

well if you read the thread you'd know the reason for the rant.

seriously... all that was more of a cya thing. all companies do that... or they face the kind of scrutiny that you people don't throw buckets of on other tuners that apparently are so godly their mere existence justifies everything.

Although anyone is free to mix and match companies A, B, C, X, Y, and Z, we cannot guarantee that our product, or anyone else’s in that system, will perform as promised. Especially when many (if not all) of these parts were designed with their accompanying parts that were replaced with a different brand. Would you install four different brands of wheels on your EVO?

LOL

Thats a pretty bad metaphor dont you think? Of course no one is going to have 4 different wheels on their car as they are 4 of them. There is 1 02 housing, 1 downpipe, etc. I dont think there is a problem mixing and matching whatso-ever. As long as they flow well and are able to be combined. My combination of parts is completely mismatched yet the incredibly solid, fast and 100% reliable.

I will say that thread did go to the can. Bottom line is, you install that 02 housing, it should make power. I doubt the Works Flash has special code to bring out the best in their 02 housing.

I do have four sets of rims os I found the above funny. I think a better metaphore would be you would not run four different brand or sizes of tires no matter how good they were individualy.

My problem with the works comparison is they are now going over board saying you need to run their tune. A Works in house tune would be the best tune for these parts, but that does not hold true to their mail in tune.

A tune by Sean Ivey, TT, Junior, Shiv, AL or whoever (as long as they are a good tuner)would be better than some mail in BS.

The Works o2 and DP are nice pieces. I would get them again in a minute!

I personally run the Invidia and it is not a POS. As far as install goes it leaves a bit to be desired based on the bolt clearences. The flow is definately more than the Ebay style even if you need it or not.

This thread was enlightening way back in 2006. However, it has earned a well deserved rest. DB's test pretty much answered all the questions.

Invidia install makes it a POS in it by itself. You have to reroute the wires and grind down one of the studs coming out of the turbo? WTF? My buddy sent back all his Invidia O2 housings. He called them up pretty angry, and the rep said that they were working on a new design. I hope it's true.
