People in mass with upgraded turbos?
Ive been debating on which turbo to get for my car. I got everything bolt on wise for my car pretty much. Now im ready for the turbo upgrade, im not sure if i want the 20g buschur, 50 trim, gt3071r, gt3076r, keep the stock or do something alittle crazy like a gt35r......everyones been saying go for a ride in one with a bigger turbo, even if its not the one i want it will give me a better idea...so im wondering if anyone can help me out....i want to see what there like with a bigger turbo.

Welcome to the Evolutionm.net forums. I see you are considering a turbo upgrade. The only way to determine which turbo upgrade is correct for you is to take the standard Evolutionm.net turbo upgrade test. It's a short, multiple choice questionnaire:
1. I bought an EVO because . . .
(a) I've always chosen it in my PS2 games
(b) Hot chicks dig it
(c) I'm an experienced amateur drag racer
(d) I'm a responsible adult that appreciates a diversion
(e) I am in need a stable platform to use as a basis for experienced experimentation pursuant to upholding the marque in a sanctioned, competitive situation.
2. I drive my EVO . . .
(a) Whenever I can afford another $10 of mid-grade gas
(b) Mostly to the mall and back to impress my (girl)friend(s)
(c) Like it was a rental car
(d) Responsibly and occasionally to a drag strip or SCCA event
(e) In amateur racing events, using responsible preparation, rev limits and experienced, proactive maintenance.
3. I want to upgrade my turbo because . . .
(a) It's sounds like the cool thing to do and I like to dream
(b) I have more money than sense
(c) My girlfriend says my 'turbo' could use a boost and I think she's talking about my car
(d) My present mods have reached the limit of the compressor with rpm to spare
(e) My calculations show that the PR of my present setup will support at least 60 lb/min mass airflow
4. I have already installed the following mods . . .
(a) Noology wires and a hyperground kit
(b) Everything Warrtalon told me not to buy
(c) A cat-back exhaust and a trick intake kit, and my buddy tuned my SAFC
(d) Buschur Stages I-II and a reflased ECU
(e) I've constructed an upgraded rotating assembly and clutch, installed the equivalent of Buschur Stages I-IV, and I have both a comprehensive interceptor device or standalone ECU, as well as access to dyno tuning and experienced, competent tuning expertise, or, have experience tuning turbo cars myself
Relax, we're almost finished:
5. People most frequently describe me as . . .
(a) A PS2 genius
(b) A (wannabe) pimp
(c) Someone who one day be reasonably intelligent and has a future
(d) Someone who already has a life and is reasonably responsible
(e) Someone who knows how to calculate the swept volume of a cylinder in his head.
Scoring
a - 1pt
b - 2pt
c - 3pt
d - 4pt
e - 5pt
Results:
5 - 7 pts - The dumbest thing your parents could do is buy you an EVO. You should be riding a tricycle.
8 - 10 pts - People like you ruin a car and try to have it fixed under warranty. You belong in a Civic with a tin can muffler and a neon stick.
11-15 pts - The stock turbo can support more power than you are ready to handle. Learn to be responsible and control your impulses. The EVO demands more respect than your freshman biology professor.
16 - 20 pts - An upgraded variant of the stock turbo is enough for you. Learn from the mistakes of others and improve your understanding of engine physics before proceeding into a much more demanding, expensive realm.
21 - 24 pts - You are ready for the top of the street car arena. You should consider enrolling in a good driving school and ECU tuning classes.
25 pts - You are ready for a GT35R or maybe even larger, and you probably contribute more in this forum than you learn. See you in the 10 sec club.
