Sputtering/Fuel Cut at 23PSI

I've been running 25-6psi w/no problems since tuned. MBC & BOV in-place. I installed a Buschur COP today and went to wash the car. On the way back I hit it hard in 3rd getting on the interstate and she it about 23psi and started sputtering or fuel cut or something. I let off quick. Tried it once in second and same thing.

I've hooked it up for a boost leak test but didn't have anyone to watch the gauge. I put some good pressure in it w/my compressor and stopped - the homemade pressure tester with PVC cap and valve blew off. I'm getting help and I'll retighten but could this be something else?

She was fine driving home last night other than a 401 code, found the EGR solenoid hose was off and put it back on.

Anything else while I go test this thing?

Thanks!

Hmmm, apparently the consensus is "spark blowout" ... I'll be reverting to stock.

It seems a COP is useless without a spark amplifier. Nice to know now. I rather thought it might help guarantee a clean spark for each plug. It seems do decrease the power of the spark instead.

Delightful.

Anybody wanna buy a Buschur COP only used for about 18 miles... ?

Look on their site. Their COP doesn't include electronics. Just four coils on a plate.

Man you should just add the Buschur ignition box and your spark will be VERY strong

You would need to add ignitors to run the cop along without the ignition box

I run the Buschur ignition and COP in my race car - it is an amazing unit !

Kazz your entire situation sounds similar to mine. My tuner is suggesting I get a HKS DLI2 to reduce spark blowout. You said that the HKS unit doesn't come with electronics? Didn't know that. I will have to read up before I purchase that bad boy.

Kazz:

Was this the 1040.00 COP system that bushcer sells now or the old like 400.00 one of old?

Roughly $400 unit. It's not marketed as HKS, just as Buschur's, at least when I bought it. It is not listed on their site anymore.

I've now hacked up the short wires before the connectors enough I'm not motivated to change anything unless I truly decide I need the extra spark. Not that I've done a sh!tty job - just that there isn't that much to work with.

I'd have to throw another $500 after the $400 I've already spent it seems - still not motivated until I know I need it I guess...

a ignition amp should be installed before a cop setup. the hks is a nice unit since its plug and play but costs a bunch. can get the xs engineering unit for much less if you don't mind soldering two wires and hooking up a ground. really simple job. 45 min and that includes mouting the unit

I already said to get the Sun hyper force, its basically the same as the HKS, easier to find sometone with it in stock, and cheaper, what more do you want?
