No it isn't a bad anology. Let's compare the greddy evo and the HKS then. Both perform VERY well, yet have different sounds. One person may like the way the HKS sounds better than the greddy. Same thing goes for the BOVs. They SOUND different. And said person buys whichever one pleases their ears. That's why there are threads made on here about best sounding exhausts. Go figure.

 

It does work "fine," but it still opens at 13psi. Most people (like you) wouldn't even know the difference. No contradiction there. I ran 12.22@111 with a cat-back while using the stock DV. That was "fine." It wasn't optimal, though, for the boost I was running (23-24psi).

 

Uh no, there is _NO_ correlation. People pick the exhaust, because it makes power. They choose between exhausts, because of sounds, cost, and looks. What we are talking about here is people purchasing a BOV _only_ because it makes noise, not because it makes power and is helpful to the car. Any true BOV will hurt the performance of an Evo, so that is in no way like choosing an exhaust. Can you not see the difference?

 

I'll come on here as I please, until I'm banned. I defend people from the extremely harsh critcism that they get from this site. I have friends who own evos here that said they won't even post on EvoM because of the plethera of A-Holes on this site. What someone thinks or says about me has no real affect to me. It annoys me though when someone else gets flamed because of what they like.

 

Yes I can see the difference just fine. And I don't disagree with what you're saying. So in essence, you're speaking plainly on BOV's then and not DV's? I assumed we were using BOV as a general term applying to both. Because if that's the case, even DVs have different sounds. And an aftermarket one the proves to hold boost better and outperform stock is still beneficial to the car, it looks better under the hood, and helps with maintaining the potential in the motor. So how is that so different from an exhaust that outperforms stock, looks better, and sounds different?

No I'm not. I said I apologized. I distinctly remember someone in here calling somebody a ricer though. That's part of flaming. You can tell him all you want that it's bad for the car. We all know that, but that doesn't help him at all with his problem. Maybe he doesn't care that it's bad for his car. I mean there are lots of people on this site running VTA's.

Whats up, have you had or know of any problems with the IX DV bleeding off or leaking while running 21 psi. I see my boost guage surge before holding the boost what could be the cause. DV?
I see the guage go 1.5 then 1.1, then 1.4 then 1.2 then it holds 1.35 in 3rd, 4th and 5ft gear
