I noticed mine when it would rain. I believe the rain would cause the exhaust to contract and push into the pilot shaft joint. If it is rubbing it will sound like a Whining/grinding sound.
My cousin has a 9 mr and had the same problem. WHat he did was buy the Kartboy hangers. It helped a little but the huge resonator was still in the way. All he did was go to an exhaust shop and have the resonator taken out and replaced with a straight 3 inch pipe. It sounded noticably deeper. This was the only way my cousin solved this problem you have. -Johncy
