I'm going to assume your engine is turning over but not starting. "Turning over" means that it is cranking or "rotating".

Pull out the plugs and verify that a spark is being generated (have a friend try to start the car while you watch the spark plug). If there is a spark being generated, then open your gas cap. Stink your ear to the gas cap, and have you friend try to start the car. If you don't hear a "whirring" sound (the fuel pump) then your fuel pump is dead. If your fuel pump is working and you have spark, then you most likely have a fuel delivery problem (clogged fuel filter, faulty injectors, etc., bubble in the line)
