Did any of you guys that has had this happen before have to get the head shaved afterward? The car was not over heated long at all but some people have just recommended to me that I have the head checked to see if it should be shaved down when changing the gasket. Any one else have experiences with this?

Call Andrew at Dyno4mance and see what he says. I would go by his recommendation.

Best thing to do is have your machinist check the warpage on it. Or, if you have the right equipment and know the general procedure, check it yourself. Each case will be different, and there's only one way to find out
