Is my BOV in backwards; is it a big deal?

Some fellow Evo owners mentioned at a meet they think my stocker is in backwards (though they all had aftermarkets so I couldn't compare). I did remove it when I was installing my MBC, but I swear to the high hevans I put it back the same way I found it. I even have a picture of the car before taking it out and it's the same way.

I already searhed and there were a few threads with broken linked pictures, but wondering if anyone has had any new experences. It definitly makes a big fluttering noise under WOT then letting off and I remember it doing the same thing before installing the MBC. The car runs fine, though I don't want this to be a little problem that turns into a big one over the course of months/ years.

BTW - I have an 05.

Yea I saw the video and your bov is making a fluttering sound. It isn't supposed to that that yet alone make a sound. It is on backwards.

You should switch it around.

It won't operate 100% properly installed in that configuration.

I bought my 03 evo in 04 and it had a greedy type-s installed backwards. The car had 12000 miles. I fixed it at like 15000 and am now pushing 40K. I haven't had BOV related problems with the car so I think you'll be fine.

+1 Mike@Forge

Ya its in backwards. I cant find my old pics, but the "cap (or hat)" should be pointing towards the exhaust manifold.

Ill try to describe it - ah screw it... see attached -- the BOV(or DV) looks like this.

But the hose that runs off the bottom of upper intercooler pipe just before the intake goes into the hose from upper IC pipe and the other goes into the intake pipe post MAF.

100% backwards. If you put it back in how it was before the MBC, then it was already backwards.

Ok, at least I know I'm not going crazy.

I'll flip it around, but am I going to have to re-dial my boost, or will it just be the same as it was?

I have mine backwards VTA (I have AEM so no drivability issues) on purpose for over a year now, (stock plastic 03 one) this way it Does Not leak air until 30 PSI (tested), the proper way 10PSI and you can hear it leaks badly. + It sounds very agressive off throttle, similar to HKS.
