im thinking about putting an electronic cut out on my evo 9... its cheap... you get the most power and quick spool... and you can close it at the push of a button so its kind of sleeper like... ive never heard of any other evo drivers with it though... if so can you tell us your experience with it???

I have one on the VIII. didn't want the cutout on the downpipe, with the fire-***** coming out of there with the Methanol fumes mixing under my hood. That is why I made a side-pipe. I have the QTP electric dump (3"). I had it on the dyno, and it made ZERO/NIL/NO gains!!! maybe its because the sidepipe adds restriction. the motor on the valve wears out, and it gets anoying, at speeds, it opens and closes, sounds retarted when it does that. I need a new motor again for the valve ($30 each time). I would get a newer improved motor if I were you.

Oh yeah, LOVE the sound when its open though!!!!

I believe QTP has them now. The problem with the "old" or mine, is you have to hold the switch up or down for 5 seconds, fully open, fully closed. If you go 6-7 seconds here and there, the motor gradually gets "tired" and burns out. The "new" ones, you just touch a button, and it opens and closes for you. no more "One mississippi...Two mississippi etc... That would eliminate the motor burn outs I have gone thru. I hear 6-10 AWHP gains from the cutout on the down-pipe, but I cant/wont put it up there due to "fire and meth fumes" issues!

I was going to have one put on so I wouldn't have to unhook my exhaust at the track for a little extra Hp. Did my reaserch and it doesn't give you hardly any extra power. Just loud. Other problems can occur as posted above also.

But if your going to get one go for the Dmh it is the orginial and is better built than the other copy companys. Heres the site. www.dmhperformance.com

Good luck

I did a write-up on my e-cutout over a year ago... and I still use it to this day... and yes, it does make a nice performance increase on the streets, track, and dyno if installed properly. Then again, I run a lot... lot of boost... daily.

I should have mine installed later this week. You should make a nice gain with it on.
Smoked,
I don't see how you have to worry about meth fumes or fire as you wont get fireballs unless your moving and your not spraying meth unless your moving. Also try and not use crushed bends in your piping and that should help with the power.

I ordered Mccord power plate - http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/mpp.htm I have heard many good things from others using it. Its not a one hit button though I'm sure you can get it, but it has a safety and will not burn out the motor either.
