fuel and boost cut for noobs?

fuel and boost cut for noobs?

yes i am a noob and yes i have been searching. so far from what i have read. a boost cut is when you get to a certain boost level for 2 seconds then the ecu cuts off the the boost. but i have yet to find a clear cut definition of what a fuel cut is? can anyone help out. thx!

I think what you described for boost is boost taper, I'm not exactly sure what the details of fuel cut is because I only have one year exp with modding automobiles and it's on the evo.

I don't think our cars, until seriously altered, exp what is called fuel cut.

both boost cut and fuel cut refer to the ECU cutting off your fuel supply to stop you from doing something bad. Fuel cut happens when you overrev the engine (rpm's too high) for example, than the "rev limiter" kicks in and stops fuel flow. It doesn't harm yuor engine but feels scary. "Boost Cut" happens when your boost gets too high, and again the ECU cuts the fuel supply to prevent engine damage. This can happen on very cold days (dense intake air), or if you mod the car to hold higher boost levels without updating the ECU software.
