Boost problem!!!Help!
I recently got a new clutch installed from a local wrench. I drove home and everything was fine. I got in my car that night to go out and as I was getting onto the freeway I decided to get on it a little bit. My brother happened to glance at the boost gauge and noticed I had boosted well over 25psi! I didn't believe him so I got on it again and noticed it hit about 27-28 psi!!! (I normally peak at 22psi)
So I get off of the next exit and turn the Hallman MBC down 1 full turn. I get back on the freeway and the pull was very weak. So I though I might've turned it down too low. I get off again and turn it up half a turn. Still bogged. I put it back to where it was before, and it still bogged!
Right now I can boost over 20psi, but it takes forever. I don't hear any weird noises on accleration or idle.

I'm just afraid it's the turbo. I'm taking it back to the guy tonight to see if we can find the problem. I'll start with a pressure check and inspect the turbo while the intake is off.
Anyone ever had these symptoms? Any ideas? Suggestions? What would have caused the increase in boost in the first place???

I checked out the Hallman and the boost lines yesterday. They looked fine. I didn't think a bad turbo could boost up that high, so I agree it's probably not a bad turbo.
Probably something simple. I should have it sorted out tonight.

i adjusted mine after i saw that the end of the arm was fully seated on the wastegate base. they should be slightly up, not touching the base of the wastegate. so i removed the wastegate assembly, loosened the nut and turned the arm a couple of times. it took a couple of tires to get it right, but basically the arm should be about 0.5cm away from the base. made a WORLD of a difference.
but only do this if the car is laggyer than before and that you see the arm is not in tension.

I had a similar experience. I always kept mine SUPER SUPER tight. It would take me 20 mins just to get it on with the 2 bolts on the bracket loose. Spooled up super fast but had some issues. I run a lot less tension now and everything is great. You need a little bit.. but not as much as I had thought.
