It is recommended. There are also sellers as low as $8 shipped on ebay, but I trust mixup52 and have done plenty of business with his fixes.

CEL is the ceramic exterior lining for the muffler bearings.

Gutted the cat on my Evo after 1st day. I know it necks down and ain't cool, but it was cheap and exhilerating to bang on.

No offense, but I am sitting here just wondering why it's crap?

I have an o2 sim, bought it for like $20 bucks on eBay. Works like a charm. I figured, if I am paying $15-$20 for a mech fix that MIGHT work, why not pay a couple more bucks to get something that does work. I did read a lot of people with success from the mech fix, as well as a good amount that didn't.

Is it crap because you have to cut your o2 wires to get it to work? Or is it that some prevent the CEL from coming on at all?

Why spend 15.25 when you can go to any automotive parts store and spend 4 bucks for the same thing???

fyi sometimes the electronic o2 sims don't work 100% of the time either

Not to mention you need some basic electronical aptitude, extra tools, and the ability to pull interior pieces off w/out breaking them

I have had the perin o2 sim for 2 years now (only fix I could find when I needed one) and no problems. This is the 2nd evo it has been installed in. Also where did you get your Magen stuff from? I have had there stuff on 2 evos now with apsolutly no fitment errors or problems whatsoever. You may have gotten knock off stuff. Good luck with your search.
