adjusting boost after Drop in Filter?

I always thought a drop in was a easy mod good for 2-3 HP, well I dropped in a Ralliart filter today and my boost which is set at 22lbs, went to a little over 24lbs, WOW is this normal from a drop in why would this be. to make sure it was not a fluke I pulled multiple times, in multiple gears and still the same 24.5 lbs. well I switched back to stock and there was 22lbs again

does everyone else have to turn down the MBC after just a drop in?

and should i keep the stocker and not touch anything, or put in the ralliart and turn down the boost?

Mike

wow i have never heard of this. A drop in filter AUTOMATICALLY altering the boost lvls?? Its jus a drop in because thats all it does, it drops in and does its job .

Strange I wonder what your real boost levels logging through the map sensor. You should definately turn it down though just in case.

I saw no boost alterations when I put in my Works drop in filter, just better throttle response.

What gauge do you have? If its hitting 24psi, then turn it down.

i have both the Mitsu stock boost gauge, and a autometer.

should i leave the stock filter in it and not touch boost, or the raliart and turn it down

Leave the ralliart. Flows better than stock Im sure. You dont want to be boosting 24 PSI though on pump gas

so the gauge is accurate, ill just turn down till it reads 22psi. I just dont wanna end up losing power because of a drop-in

Not sure your gauge is accurate. This is an odd problem. Did you put the stokie back in and see if it returned to the 22psi you were previously seeing? Somtimes boost gauges arent as accurate as people think they are.
