Hey folks,
I want to post up a couple of thoughts:
1. 11.1 is fast but not THAT fast. I know that I don't have anything to brag about. Here is how that run went: I shifted to 2nd and 3rd at around 7600 rpms. I realized then that I wasn't holding my gear long enough and waited on my 3 to 4 shift. Unfortunately, I held 3rd too long and hit my rev limiter pretty bad before shifting to fourth (bap bap bap bap bap). I held it in fourth til the line. My 1/8th mile time was 7.2 at 97mph.

2. It really was BEYOND hot. All the Evos were running slower than their potential: 115mph cars were running 111mph, 122mph cars were running 119mph, etc. It was 148 degrees on the track and 109 degrees in town.

3. Blowing my lower intercooler pipe twice sucked. So I only got in one legit run. I should have known better than to have cheap stock-type clamps on there. Imagine laying on 148 degree asphault to swap out the pipe with an undamaged one...

A lot of people pitched in to help me out. Thanks go out to Alfred, Brent, Raymond, Jason, Jennifer and Tuan.

I knew that the 11.1 meant you were going to beat hell for MPH in the 1/8th compared to your mph in the 1/4!

Running into the rev limiter in 3rd explains your trap speed 100% Just a moment spent on the rev limiter like that makes a huge difference.... don't ask me how I know

Even with hitting the limiter in 3rd you were still running right around 8,000 in 4th when you crossed the finish line..... if you had made a clean run you would have been going even faster! How high do you plan on spinning that stroker motor?

I'm running 17 X 9 wheels with 255 40 17 tires. This makes my gear ratio slightly shorter than stock. My rev limiter is set to 8300.

No, not the fastest: Doug Parks has run 10.2 and DOOMID of Team D has run 10.6. I'm not gunning for them either. Also, Dan Bajalais is in Vegas with his 9 second car. My goal is 10s. I'm just racing the clock.

I dont even know why people bother going to the track when its that hot out. Just wait until its a little cooler and try and get the best times! 11.1 is awesome though.

Congrats on the runs. Are you planning on running on the 29th BOTI? I am hoping to be out there with one of our cars. As long as Alfred can fit me in for a EMS tune.

I'll either be at the Battle of the Imports or at MOD (mistu owners day).
