max horsepower engine can take

I think the moral of the story is to try to search for the information if at all possible.. Then ask..
I don't always answer newbie posts until I see their getting misdirected.. I do sympathise to Warrtalons frustration, since it can get tiring to answer the same questions all the time.. However this isn't a PM, its an open thread, someone will answer it for them, you don't have to unless you feel like it..
The simple answer to your question is there are plenty of bone stock bottom-ends making 450-550whp reliably, a good tune and good choice of parts will take you a long way.. This does not mean your engine will not fail, and it does not mean you cannot make 600+ whp reliably, it just means that it depends on your car, your driving habits, your tune, and your choice in parts..
Can I tell you exactly what to do? Well, yeah, but opinions are like ***holes, everyone has them and most stink.. Your best tool is to spend time seeing what information is on the forum, and getting to know the products out there.. Don't rush into making changes, and don't expect to build a 500whp car over night.. Not only will this save you money, and frustration, and ultimately time in doing it right the first time, but will also give your car time to get broken in, and figured out.. the absolute WORST thing you can do is modify a new car, before your used to it.. Drive the car for 10-20k miles, see what you want from it.. try to wait out the warranty, or at least wait long enough so if you have a problem it can get fixed under warranty.. Then mod away, by then you should no longer be a noob and have a good base understanding of your own car, and the product out there..

Do you actually think when someone is directed to a car forum the first thing they want to do is read all the rules. They want hard core facts, and yes in most cases they have already been answered. I searched this forum for over a year before I ever signed up or even made a post. The funny thing is, I never even read the rules.
My only suggestion to you is, if your "that" sick of new people asking question already answered then just ignore the thread. That easy!
You can do that or just say "try using the search feature" WITHOUT the additional sly condescending tone.
It doesn't matter how many times you type, preach, or yell it. New people are going to ask questions without searching. Don't take it so personal because your responses sound like you really do.

Although i will say that since Warrtalons banning he won't go on and one and argue with everyone, he just flames and then doesn't retaliate, good for the mods. Defenately calmed him down.

HP doesn't really matter, its the tq that breaks the rods, so to answer your question about 450tq is the limit of the factory rods. Which with a gt35r will get you around 520-570hp before breaking the 450tq limit. Now if you run an even larger turbo that spools even slower but makes more power up top but less tq down low it could be possible to make570-600hp on the stock bottom end again before hitting the 450tq limit.
I am sure there are people pushing more than 450tq... but thats my stoping point.

To bullet1105,
There is a lot of information here on evom.
With that said, why not start with the basics and learn
more about your Evolution.
We all started somewhere at one point or another.
Small steps my friend...
After all, you have to learn how to walk before you can run.

Wow.. Evo owners are so much more mature than people in other forums. Not to put other forums down, it's just you dont really see people being cool and calm about things like this.
personally I search for what ever question I need answered but if I cant find it or need updated facts or opinions about a certain subject I will usually make a new thread. Newbies like myself appreciate all the help you guys can give

You just want us to randomly recommend turbos and performance upgrades? Ok, here's my recommendation:
- ATP GT42r utilizing the stock manifold
- Boost Solutions 2.5l destroked 3.0 V6 3500 from a Chevy Lumina
- Precision Dyno Tuning EcuTek Flash
That should get you started.

hp = heat. More hp = greater heat. Those cast pistons hold up well, but . . .
There is no magic figure whereby the factory engine suddenly fails. The greater the abuse, the shorter the life expectancy.
