Heavy oil buildup inside my MAF

Will a coating of oil buildup inside my MAF set off error code P0102 (MAF or VAF sensor low input). Im really scared i just got a new shortblock in my car and its been running in limp mode the day after I got it back. I also have 272 cams, safc2, and a mailin flash.

edit: is it possible to clean your MAF? also if I needed to get a new one should I just go through a dealership?

alright i bought some MAF cleaner, a lot of nasty stuff but still no help to my p0102 code. and the car is still in limp mode, studdering at 3k rpms-6krpm. I noticed a sensor is unconnected that is neighboring the MAS. heres a pic, I have a avc-r and afc im pretty sure this has something to do with the avc-r. I could be wrong but I couldn't find another unconnected harness to fit this one.

(sorry about the pic, had to resize in MS paint )

It sounds like you have deeper issues here, but an oil catch can is an easy solution for your oil coated maf.

I ruined my MAF sensor, and had to get another one. I don't know if it was the "cone" intake, "cone" oil, or what it was. You probably need a new MAF sensor. Mine was reading 32 ft "under sea level" when the Mitshubishi guy checked it out. that was a couple years ago. No problem like that since. I was running rich in "limp home" mode also!!
