the clear lower part is prolly of polycarbonate/lexan. engine oil is a pretty long chain molecule and non-polar, at most it will discolor the transparent plastic.

Here's what we were doing a few years back. I took these off my car because the plastic was cracking, splitting, and leaking from the heat. catch cans
