Most aftermarket BOV's have the ability to fine-tune them after you set the initial spring pressure.. Its important to start conservatively and then go from there.. a little bleedoff is safer than getting reversion due to excess pressure..

Just got back from Orlando, where I picked up the billet BOV from Forge Motorsport. It was a direct swap for the stock valve, and is definitely a few steps up the quality scale. Soon as it stops raining here I am going to see if it helps with the boost fall-off I still see with my MBC.

Didn't expect rock steady, but still experimenting before running to buy an electronic BC.

Not too sure about the EVO CBV but when I got my eclipse that was the second thing I replaced (after intake). Not sure if the EVO's is a little leaky like it was in the 2g's. I don't know why mitsu installed the damn things. If they are it may be about pointless to install the MBC with out upgrading that first. I myself would think you would be able to hold pretty solid boost, I mean joe p's and hallmans are very reputable MBC's.

Hope its ok to post.
The Forge Bov will come assembled ,and configued to run on your car , however because the valve is serviceable we have the facility to change the springs and cahnge then for alternative strength springs.

This also allows the customer the option to change or configure the valve to thier own preferred specification.

The Recirc or Diverter valve again comes configured ready to run .

Both valves are serviceable and with all Forge products guaranteed for life

Hey, yesterday i saw a noce BOV on a rex, and it was from GoFastBits. I checked their site, and they have an adjustable hybrid valve, called the stealth-fx. It vents to both the atmsosphere for noise and intake for engine stability, at the same time. It even lets you adjust how much air is vented to each, so you can actually dial in how loud you can get it before the car runs rich, or if you just dont want to hear it sometimes..

anybody have any experience with these BOV's.. they seem to run aroun 200-220, and I'm still waiting to hear from them if they have adaptors for the evo. but it seems to be perfect for most our applications.

To those w/ the Forge BOV.

I installed one the other day and notice a 'sqeak' when I let off the throttle. (don't confuse this with the 'whoosh' sound of the air being diverted) So I'm trying to get the 'squeak' squelched.

It sounds as though as the seals are 'dry'. Would adding a couple of drops of oil be okay? Or is this a characteristic of this BOV?

FWIW, I have the recirculating version. And YES, I did install it correctly.

Try talking to Forge and see if they'll send you another unit. I don't hear any squeaking noises from by BOV.

As far as BOVs go, the Sport Compact Article is great.
Interesting part is the APEXi showed no surge on the chart once it opened. All the other BOVs has a small surge just after opening.
Unfortunately the APEXi is not a recirc'ing valve if you want one. Therefore it appears the HKS is the best valve in the test.

Remember, the BOV is there to protect the turbo from surge.

Did I read it wrong? It looked to me like the HKS SSQV was one of the worst performers as far as surge. The graph was all over the place.

I think they even mentioned it only winning for looks...

My mistake, I reviewed the article and you are right about the surge on the HKS. I guess that's good anyway it is expensive relative to some of the others. The Forge Motorsports doesn't look to bad, especially for the price. The other down side to the article though is the testing was done at only 9 psi of boost. The 2G one actually looks good on the graph but is more prone to leak above 15psi.

Ditto! I have the same problem! Is there a simple fix? I contacted Forge but am just waiting for a response now. Anyone else have this problem? Let me know!

Ok I thought it might have been that the return line for the intake was pinched and causing a whistling sound..but after taking the time to straighten them out and make sure everything was in properly, I had no success. If there's still a fix out there I'd love to know...please!

Installed the Forge re-circ valve and have the same squeak noise. Does anyone know the cause yet? Actually sounds like air passing through an aluminum tube, which makes sense but is it normal.
