While I was out of country doing some tuning last week Daniel and Trent took it out and ran a new best of 9.46 at 154 mph. It never got posted or talked about.
Took the car back out tonight. Daniel, Trent and myself. Hoping to better the 9.46 from last week.
Weather was hot and muggy. Looked like rain. We hit a few passes and ran a few 9.50's at 155 mph.
The car wasn't launching like we wanted as the 60' times are in the 1.50's. 3 weeks ago we had dropped them to 1.43.
I kicked the 2 step up on the launch by 400 rpm and it made a huge difference.
Next 60' wasn't great, only a 1.52 again but the car left smooth and it was on from there.
Car ran 6.14 in the 1/8 mile at 123.33 mph
1/4 mile came in at 9.22 @ 157.50 mph
Right after that pass the rain came. Happy with the 9.22 we ate some burgers and hotdogs, relaxed and headed back to the shop.
Some points I'd like to bring up about the car. This is still the exact same engine that was going round after round at the shootout. No bearings, no rings, no gaskets. NO MAINTENANCE at all. Only have switched out for a fresh clutch. Thank you Exedy for a clutch that works so well. The rear end, transfer case, driveshaft, u-joints, and transmission are all 100% stock. We have not broken a single driveline part in this car. The axles are upgraded to Axle Shop Stage 5's. Transmission was done here by Daniel, nothing special, EVO trans is awesome.
Bullet proof so far. Very lucky too I guess. The EVO's are a far cry from what the DSM's were. Hell a few 10 second runs in a DSM and we had to fix some driveline part!
The shootout is going to be very interesting this year. We aren't done yet.
Remember the DSM/EVO Shootout is in it's 14th year and is the 12-13th of August.

CONGRATS !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing to see that 1/8 mph !
Its also great to see that Buschur Racing has really dialed in the Evo engine program - I should know - I have one in my Evo - amazing that car has a whole lot of 9 second passes on it - prob more 9 second passes than any evo in the world !
As a huge Buschur Racing fan from day #1 - its like seeing my favorite team win the super bowl ! Its about time Buschur Racing got serious with the Evo as they have in the past with the DSMs

damn!
no shock at all that a buschur built motor is running flawlessly, but i am pretty dam suprised on the lack of driveline carnage. Im sure the transmission is built rather good by daniel.
Congrats!
