What to Gap Plug's?
Hey guys just curious what you guys with upgraded turbo's were running your gap at. I finally got my DLI in and just plugged it in with plugs still gapped at .24. The DLI has made a HUGE difference with the 3076/alky, much much smoother. I am adding some stuff (AMS race FMIC, AMS Intake mani w/throttle body, etc) and will be getting retuned for 116 and 30 PSI. Should they be gapped differently on 91/alky vs. 116 no alky? Thanks
Allen, you should be able to run 8 heat range gapped to .028 on the HKS DLI. Give .028 a shot and see if it breaks up the ignition at all. The higher the gap, the more power you'll make, and the HKS DLI allows a much larger gap than the stock ignition.

Well the fuel doesn't determine the gap as much as the boost does. You are trying not to blow out the spark while also not fouling the plug when driving around out of boost, so it may require some experimentation. If I were you, I'd have several sets of BR8ES or BPR8ES handy during the tuning and for changing at random intervals in case you start to lose spark (sputtering).

The reason I ask is I got a Sunpro unit installed (like the DLI) since I was having spark blowout on my EVO. The spark blowout logs as a spike in the AFR. The car was running great w/o misfires at all.
After I installed the Sunpro, the spark blowout remained. No change at all.
After I started mixing gas to get the required 93 octane (I am in CA), the spark blowout disappeared. I asked on the Innovate forums why this happened and I was told "Seems the fuel that you are mixing together has better ignition properties. Meaning it requires lower spark energy to ignite."
