We know you don't care because you have a dynoflash........ This is posted here as just one of the countless examples of how Al run's his buisness....

Plus you really don't want to bring Al's tuning methods into this discussion, I just pulled the rom off of a buddies car with an Evo9 with a tune, Al always talks about the complexity of tuning these new 9's and all there individual maps, I don't know why, all the high octane maps are identical along with all the low octane ones.

WTF ?? But like I said before your signature explains it all. If you're such an expert why are paying someone to flash your evo and take the top speed limit out? So before calling me an idiot check yourself.

I think that some people just have "issues" what can I say

I can not speak for other vendors but I listed the top speed removal as one of the tuneable parameters I can adjust for those folks who live in other areas of the world in which some of them have speed limits which i can and do remove on a regular basis

The US cars of course come stock with a very high speed limit

Thanks

Not an AL fan by any means, he prob cant stand me either and thats perfectly OK by me BUT in all fairness before the posts were edited one of the links posted as "evidence" was a link back to AL's page. I know because I clicked on it and my computer farted at me. LOL JK but it was there.

Inregards to that lame excuse about OTHER regions.... I aint buyin it. Thats a lame excuse. I mean really are the JDM EVO's just knocking down the door to have a US tuner touch thier cars............ um yeah.

Al, what speed limit's were on the cars that you tuned from other areas of the world out of curiosity?

This a reminder that all posters (vendors and members) are subject to the site rules concerning flaming and personal insults. Please keep this on topic without flaming or it will be removed. I find it incredible that some vendors believe (apparently) that there is a disconnect between their company image and flaming others.

I'd also highly suggest a few of you edit your inflammatory remarks in this thread yourselves...

I just dont get the recent hostility level and lack of respect on this forum for fellow users.

To clarify, there are dozens of tuneable parameters that I have available to adjust and tuen at the customers requests and options and the list grows on almost a monthly basis

Top speed limit removal is just one of many adjustments that I can do and as specified on USDM cars its already set high enough so no one will ever hit it

Some JDM cars are apparently lower as I have been requested to lower them on a regular basis

There are dozens of other functions that are adjusted in every mail in tune and custom tune that I do not list

Thanks

Notice I said (gear wise) as in the gearing allows for this speed. I didnt say that a stock MR was capable of said speed. What I said was taken out of context.

I think a member(ALWAYSINBOOST) was complaining about the same claim. So pretty much the evo9 rom you pulled was tuned in similar fashion to the evo8?

Its because all the black magic and voodoo have started to evaporate when ECUflash got released. Bonestock, the ECU is very complex in how it calculates, in order to tune in something of a more practical way (neither Mitsu's R&D nor race program to rely on) requires simplifying the operating system a little. There are alot of other variables that all interconnect that make it complex even after simplifying the ignition maps.

I don't think Al condones people sharing the exact details of his tuning, but all 3 high octane maps were identical, and all 3 low octane maps were identical, which leaves me wondering, why are there three maps? To which I do not know the answer, nor if it is beneficial to have them the same or different- I simply am not qualified to answer.
