Cosworth M2 cams?

Anyone one tested these cams yet. 272 with 11 mm lift. I know they are really new but its worth a shot. Comparison with hks 280's or other aggresive cams.

I seached this and have the info from Cosworth on the cams. I was wanting some dyno proof if they would make more power than HKS 280s. I know revolvers and JUNs do I was wondering if the M2 cams would be similar in performance since I can't find a set of revolvers and Juns cost $200 more than them both.

I think jun's were dynoed at 60 whp more than the HKS 280's were on a evo with like 600 whp. Im not sure who did the dyno test, but that much HP would be worth it to me for 400 dollars.

I believe with the Cosworth you would need stiffer valve springs and such, since they have taller lobes vs. the HKS 280's (I'm not exactly sure, I'll check cosworth's home page and get back!!!)

Cosworth technical spec's on M2 cams--here

HKS cam lift #'s from HKSusa's website--
22002-AM007 MITSUBISHI Lancer Evolution 2003-2004 Intake 4G63BT 280 10.2 $380.00

22002-AM008 MITSUBISHI Lancer Evolution 2003-2004 Exhaust 4G63BT 280 10.2 $380.00

It appears the Cosworth are 11.0mm, the HKS are 10.2mm. I would think you would need some headwork to go along with the Cosworth's, but it may be worth it for an additional 30-40hp!?!

The Cosworth M2 features a bit higher lift, but much shorter effective duration than any of the HKS cams (or did I goof? See post #16). The Cosworth M2 are also ground on a relatively advanced 107/113LC, which coupled with the short duraton makes them appear (on paper) more oriented toward an application that focuses on street feel and with a stock or moderately sized turbo.

Thanks everyone it appears that the cosworth cams aren't even as aggressive as the hks 280s. I already have a built motor and head, so the valve train is no problem. Guess I'll either wait for Revolvers to get back in stock or see if I can get some JUN 272s from AMS.

individual results may vary, but these numbers are unprecidented WTQ on the 16G, and WHP and WTQ on the 30R and 35R for pump gas on our local dyno.

Normally

GT30Rs make 330~ whp
GT35Rs make 350~ whp
