SVT - yours shut off early due to your car not being warmed up yet.

Silver - 7800-7900 or so is where my shuts off.... probably only worth while in 1st gear... other than that, it is better to just shift at 7000rpm or so.

I would think it's the fact you have your boost upped with your profec B....maybe weather conditions? How much were you running? 21 psi?

The rev limiter kicks in at 7500. 6800 is said to be the best shift point on the evo.

I pushed to 7400 but didn't bounce off. but as coolguy said 6800/6900 seems to be the best shift point, so I don't think I'll bounce off of it too many times. That's assuming that the stock tach is accurate

Evo VIII's do not come with rev limiters (not the honda style hard rev limiters).... they have fuel cut at around 7500 rpm stock..... people have seen the car up at 8000 rpms coasting down a hill in gear. Don't ask why they let it rev up that high

Fuel cut is at around 7800rpms.
It's like getting smacked by a Mack truck.
Not soft like a Honda.

Since we're on the topic of fuel cut, I have a question. What causes the ECU to make the car cut out (from boost, not rpm). It was cold last night, and coming home, my boost spiked to 24psi and stayed there, then cut out.

the cut out is usually caused by unsufficient A/F ratios, sorry for the spelling it's late can't tihnk....

I find it odd that people are saying the cut-off is "not like a honda". Because I hit the rev limiter once or twice while on the road course a few weeks ago and found that it hits just the same as my ITR did. It sounds like an rpm flutter as the revs drop and rise appx 100rpms. Both have a fuel cut off type rev limiter.
