I didn't even know the X was gonna have that. That's badass!

I don't want an automatic. It's actually for my buddy. He wants something very original and loves the Evo 8/9. To each his own.

I can drive a manual. It's got some pep too.

Besides... brake boosting? That's soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sexy!

So I guess i'll give AMS or Buscher a call... see whats up. Thanks anyway. But guys... stop bashing and think about it. Automatics = Boost off Line! Oh god... :-)

If you want boost "off the line", you're much better off working out an anti-lag system!

Wow, bunch of ignorance in this thread.

Think for a moment... say you're an avid Evo fan and you happen to get into an accident where you lose your lower half. The only way you'd be able to drive again is with an auto. Now think about this thread...

Oh yea... to all you anti-auto fan boys.... I hate to tell you... but auto's are faster than manuals.

And a sequential manual is faster than a traditional automatic.

It's symantics really.

In my opinion, and anti-lag system is going to be the easiestand most cost-effective way to get spool/boost right off idle on an Evo.

Finally! Someone with a clue! A built auto will shine over any built manual any day of the week!

He is kinda looking for special sponsors and all that jazz. He thinks that going this route will help him. I sorta think he's right!

Razorlab is right. I swear half some of the people on here speaking out of their asses.

It features Mitsubishi's highly acclaimed INVECS II five speed automatic with Formula 1 style gear change buttons on the steering wheel. The interior is much more luxurious than before too, take a look through the features here on the site and find out.

A properly built auto is faster then a manual in some applications. But those applications aren't Evos. We aren't RWD domestics and we can't swap a Chevy Powerglide in with a Ford 9 inch to go lay down monster times.

Still, there are a few succesful built 1G autos out there. The only way I could see this happening is if you sourced a VII GT-A's trans or tried building up an Outlander AWD box and swap it in.

Believe me... I know that. I see what AMS Is trying to do with your car. haha

I'm just messing... I am sure it's possible and would be quite sick. I am going to call AMS tomorrow. I will definitely post what they tell me!

something that nobody mentioned is that the GTA version of the EVO (auto gearbox) has less torgue than the normal Evo. I guess the auto gearbox cannot handle the power of the engine...

I ll try to find specific info and post it...
