I see that you have a 20G. How good is it for the autox.
The question is because I havent change my turbo because the autoxs but I see you go to a few with it.
Are those the cams that give better spool time?
Let me know.

I think the 20G could be a great turbo for autocross, depending on what you are looking for and what other mods you mate it with. If you change to it you can only run Street Mod class or XP class for SCCA autocross. Both of those are extremely fast on the National level. Some local areas are very fast and some are not. To really be competitive you will need full suspension tuning and alot of power.
The 20G itself spools a little slower than the stock turbo, but combined with Revolver cams it spools up faster than the stock EVO8 turbo on HKS 280's. This combo made 110 ft.lb. more torque at 3200 rpms than the stock/280 setup. The problem I am running into now is putting down that torque coming out of corners. I'm spinning the inside tires. I'm gonna try to tighten up the rear diff to see if that helps. I'm leaning towards going with a setup for next year that gives up some TQ but has more top end power.

Just think, the average autocross course is about 50 seconds long. In highly competitive classes the difference between 1st and 2nd can be thousandths of a second. At Nationals 0.5 second can mean the difference between 1st and 15th. If you can get any advantage off the line, whether it is 0.2 or 0.5 seconds, that means your competitor has to go that much faster through the rest of the course to beat you.

I had not decided what turbo to buy. Did you ever tried the 20G-6?, I guess surging could be a problem, dunno if in autocross.
Thanks for the advice.

I have a few hundred launches on mine, auto-x, and about 7000 miles of street driving. Takes a licking and keeps on sticking
As far as no lift shifting, my friends comment that my transmission is a "trevamatic". Check out the drag video in my sig or some of the ones here...
