exedy twin problem!!

Ok, I have installed the exedy twin disk in my car a couple of weeks ago, and it worked fine when i first put it in. Now, it's acting up.
Here's the problem...
The clutch starts to engage real lightly about an inch off of the floor, and then about an inch and a half later it fully engages. It kinda feels like one of the disks are engaging before the other one. I don't know what to do, I've tried adjusting the clutch. I know I installed the clutch correctly i've paid really close attention when I put it together that the blue line was matched up. This problem just makes it a pain to race at the strip because the car starts to move way before the clutch is ready to fully engage. Has anyone had this problem? If so what have you done to fix it?? I hate to have to take the trainy back out of this thing to fix this stupid little problem, but its extremely annoying not being able to stage my car correctly.

Under your dash adjust the clutch rod as far out as possible that will raise the pedal engagement up to the top of the pedal........well it should.

maybe one of the discs broke
in of the clutches that i have had (single disc ceramic), the 2 of the straps holding the center hub springs and of the springs actually broke. this caused exessive play in the center hub.

Only other thing you could try is removing the restrictor in the slave cylinder as it gave me inconsistent engagement. Between this and the slave rod, there's not much else you could try short of removing the tranny and inspecting the cluth.

You might have warped the outer clutch disc upon install. It is a common problem with twin disc clutch jobs as people tend to allow the the plastic clutch disc alignment tool to sag when they are bolting down the pressure plate. This misalignment will cause issues stabbing the tranny. I actually had to use zip ties to hold pressure up on the end of the plastic tool in order to keep the alignment correct. The tranny should slide into the clutch and on to the engine alignment dowels like butter. If there is any resistance, you're not lined up. Where people screw up, is the two clutch disc's are not quite aligned, in their frustration of trying to stab the tranny, they allow the weight of the transmission to rest on the input shaft... distorting that clutch disc/or disc's.
