Blown turbo on a STOCK evo 9! Please Help! *pics inside*
If I change the turbo, is there a possibility that the same thing could happen again? That is, is there any other thing at fault. Could there be a lack of lubrication or anything else I should check for? Or is this just a freak accident/ manufacturing fault?

as long as you have a Mitsubishi dealer in Bangladesh you should go the warranty route. i know they don't know jack sh*t about the car but they should be able to get you a new turbo from Dubai (ususally that's where all imports get their parts from from SE asia. You can do the install yourself but chances are you may end up waiting for a while to get parts in thru warranty.
if you have the dough and don't give a crap, then just upgrade. to me it sounds like a faulty turbo.

It shouldn't matter if they are knowledgeable about the car. If it's a Mitsu dealer, the dealer has mechanics and service manuals or an internnet connection, the car is stock, and all Mitus come with a warranty regardless of where they're sold then they shoud be the ones to fix your car for free or replace it with a new one. I would ask for a new motor. Yours ingested a lot of metal.

If this is the magnesium compressor wheel it has been rumored to fail. If it is not, I would say that something hit the blades. Were you running this without an air filter?
The oil being in the pipes concerns me as well, what pipes did you find oil in? A small amount is normal but if we're talking a lot, and depending on where, that could be bad.
Email these pictures to sales@blouchturbo.com and ask for a failure diagnosis, they might be able to tell you from the pics what happened.

Regarding the oil deposit, I found it in the lower pipings but not too much. Just enough to lubricate. Could this have damaged anything else?
It is not possible for you to buy a brand new Mitsubishi and the dealer "knows nothing" about your car. Why haven't you tried taking the car back to the dealership if everything is stock like you say? If this happened to my BRAND NEW evo, i'd have the car towed to the dealership without even touching a wrench to it...If they can't fix it there, they are responsible for your car! I'm sure it's illegal in any country not to honor a warranty on a new car. Get what you paid for man!
Go back to the dealer and have them fix it....... Just kidding. It is funny how nobody is reading the post of you being in a country which does not recognize the Evo. There are no grey market cars here (or hardly any) so most people are not familiar with the risk.
If I were in your postion I would just replace it with a new turbo. Trying to get that fixed may prove to take too long and cost more in the end. Are there any tunign shops in your country? They may be able to point you in the right direction.

Yea man I read that people were claiming failures with the magnesium compressor wheel's. This could very well be what happened. I dont know how it works in other countries but does the car even get a warranty or when you bought it does it specify that it does not come with one? If it was sold to you with any kind of warranty call mitsu directly Im sure sombody can help you.
